One of our favorite community initiates is DAD DAY! Every year we show love to the Dads, they express how invisible they feel and how rare it is to receive love or appreciation on their day. That makes us want to continue our efforts to make them feel loved on their day of appreciation.
In the beginning years, we stuffed cups with treats and passed them out at Barbershops but after we noticed the dads gave them to their kids, we decided to try something that only THEY can have... money towards their haircuts!
2023 was the first year we tried this new way to giveback. We had a HUGE SUCCESS! Read more HERE. The following year, we didn't have quite as much success, but were able to cash app a few dads online for their haircuts and put $30 on 6 dads haircuts at local barbershops.
This year, we wanted to do the same, put $30 towards dads haircuts so we started our fundraising. Our goal was 24 dads, but were only able to raise enough for 9 dads. Our President decided to put $20 towards their haircuts so we could do more! We were able to put $20 on 14 dad's haircuts! We prepared the cards and set out to find random barbershops to bless.
In the end, the Dads we met were so appreciative and our mission was accomplished. Fundraising has been really hard lately, but that wont stop us from trying. We exist to remind humanity that KINDNESS exists... but it definitely takes support from our community!
