Hoodies 4 Humanity '21: Nashville

Becky Russell

Every year, we raise just enough money to purchase NEW winter essential items for the humans experiencing homelessness. A hoodie, beanie, socks, and gloves.
This year, after much thought, we decided to take the community initiative to our hometown of Nashville, TN.
Late last year, a hometown hero loss his life to a senseless killing and we wanted to find a way to honor his legacy by dedicating this giveback to him.
Rasheed Walker was known to giveback to his community and create events for Nashville that helped bring people together. With his mothers blessing, we dedicated this one to him!
We raised over $1500 and received additional items from 10 sponsors as well as having warm pizza provided by Nashville's own, Slim + Husky's to over 100 humans!
We had great conversations about their circumstances and dreams, we laughed, we listened, we even gave a woman some shoes off our feet!
THANK YOU to everyone that made this possible! I wonder where we will be next year?!

Our president took the shoes off of her feet and gave them to this young lady in need. She was in her socks.
We had just enough!!
The Slim + Husky's pizza was PERFECT! Many had seconds and thirds!

Most of the donations!!
It was super cold, but nothing would keep us from serving our community.
