When we first started our Good Human Day, we have ONE GOAL in mind- create an outdoor event where people can come, eat, have fun and meet likeminded Good Humans. Like many other events, we rely on fundraising, merch sales, or sponsors to make our efforts possible. Without that, we can only do so much.
This year, we wanted to plan an indoor event due to last years weather conditions causing us to reschedule.. then the EXTREME heat on the reschedule day. Because weather is unpredictable, outside was our last resort. Because we lack funding, we decided to just take our chances and plan it outside this year.
Thanks to Eugene's Hot Chicken sponsoring our food, no matter what, at least we will eat good!!!
The sun was out everyday BUT the day of the event.... it rained the entire time- but that didn't stop our day ones from making this Good Human Day the most eventful one yet! We did relay races in the rain, played basketball shootout in the rain, the kids played on the playground in the rain, played a quick game of kickball in the rain, we ate in the rain and DANCED in the rain! Literally and figuratively.
But, this WILL BE OUR LAST GOOD HUMAN DAY outdoors. We are working on other ways to celebrate this day next year which will be our 10th year!!
