BAY a Good Human!!

Becky Russell

After months of talking about it and planning our relocation to Cali, we finally DID IT!! It has been a month since the move and I couldn't be happier! The air, the weather, the people and just the INSPIRATION is everything I needed!

Many of you may know, the Bay Area is the PLACE for small business and innovation. Not to mention, Oakland, where we live, is today one of the most racially and ethnically diverse cities in the country. Also, right up the street, Berkeley is well known for its Free Speech Movement in the 60's.

In 1964, Mario Savio and 500 fellow students marched on Berkeley's administration building to protest the university's order. He and other leaders called for an organized student protest to abolish all restrictions on students' free-speech rights throughout the University of California system.

Another little known fact:

In the 1960s, when massive demonstrations and civil unrest resulted in the Civil Rights Acts (which made it a federal crime to discriminate against someone based on their race, color, sex, religion, or national origin in employment and housing), Oakland was again at the center of change. Community groups born in the 1960s like the Black Panther Party, Oakland Community Organizations (PICO/OCO), Unity Council, Intertribal Friendship House and many others continued to organize and demand protections and equal access to jobs, housing, employment, transportation and services

Safe to say, we are in the right place to share our message.

IF YOU'RE STILL HERE, THANK YOU.

Relocating is tough! Especially when you move to a place you know nothing about! As we try to get settled in our home, we know our absence may seem like we're done, but that couldn't be further from the truth. We just need a little time to restart! We feel like we're starting from scratch. With no funding or help, we are only able to do what we can... when we can.

Look out for our posts, join the mailing list and stay tuned, we will be back and better than ever!
